The Manufacture in Neuchâtel Panerai Luminor Marina enriches the history of presenting the new Luminor Marina 1950 3 Days Automatic, animated by the new Automatic Calibration with three days of power reserve P.9010.
The Luminor Marina was the first great success of the history of the Panerai replica brand. In the nineties, after decades of creations made for the Italian Navy, for a long time covered by military secrecy, the Luminor with the dial of the small seconds at nine was one of the models that have contributed most to let the world know the brand Panerai, consecrating the clocks to the icons of contemporary sport watches. The new Luminor Marina 1950 3 Days Automatic is distinguished by their size, pattern, materials and creativity of the dial but share features and specifications of the movement and are all developed on cash Luminor 1950. The latter is the more faithful to the design of the case with historically realized proteggicorona device for the Italian Navy between the forties and fifties of the last century, but is produced with proportions subtly redesigned: the size of the new caliber, in fact, have led to a thickness and a weight considerably reduced compared to those the models already in the collection.
The self-winding caliber P.9010, entirely developed and manufactured in Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel, has the central hour and minute hands, small seconds in counter at nine o’clock and a date window at three o’clock. The energy required to accumulate a power reserve of three days – the basic standard for movements in-house replica watches Panerai – is accumulated in two barrels whose springs are armed by a bidirectional oscillating weight. Formed by components 200 and with 31 rubies, the gauge has a diameter of 13 ¾ lines and 6 mm in thickness. The rocker arm, fixed by a bridge of dual support, oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and is connected to a stop device at the time when the winding crown is pulled out, in order to obtain a perfect synchronization of the ‘ clock with a reference signal. In caliber P.9010 setting the hour can be conveniently carried out without interfering with the march of minutes, thanks to the device which makes Move directly only the relative lancet, in jumps of one hour forward or backward. A very useful function in case of change of time zone or from standard time to daylight saving time, considering that the time adjustment is automatically connected to that date.
The collection includes five different models, all with Luminor 1950 case made of steel and P.9010 automatic movement with three-day power. The main novelty compared to previous models with similar specifications, is that the construction of the new P.9010 caliber Panerai has allowed designers to significantly reduce weight and thickness of the case, leading the latter to 13.2 mm in diameter models 42 mm and 15.6 mm in models with diameter 44 mm. In all versions, the movement is admirable sapphire porthole which opens on the back side.
The new Luminor Marina 1950 3 Days Automatic Steel is available with white dial, both with 42 mm diameter case (PAM01523) is in the 44 mm size (PAM01499). The dial design of these specimens, with a figure and point and date window at three o’clock indexes, presents an aesthetic detail that distinguishes all models in this collection: the second hand small seconds at nine is an intense blue replica Panerai. Absolutely the strap is brown leather, not chemically treated, with contrasting stitching ecru in harmony with the tone of the Super-LumiNova® that makes visible the hour markers in the absence of light. Similarly, the Luminor Marina 1950 3 Days Automatic Steel is available in both 42 mm (PAM01392) is 44 mm (PAM01312), sandwich black dial, in the classic Panerai style: a large figure indexes to the cardinal points, linear indices the hours, small seconds – with blue hand – nine o’clock and date window at three o’clock she. In these models the strap is black alligator with ecru stitching contrasting. Another version is available with all indices in figure (PAM01359) and the black leather strap. Like every Panerai watch, all new Luminor Marina 1950 3 Days Automatic Steel are designed to fit perfectly in water use: the speakers are made of a stainless steel alloy (AISI 316L) that excels in corrosion resistance; the legendary Panerai waterproofing is guaranteed up to 10 bar (about 100 meters) for models 42 mm and up to 30 bar (300 meters) for models 44 mm.
